One thing you will hear a lot about as you start reading more blogs is the term RSS. That is the acronym for Real Simple syndication and all that means is that with a RSS reader like FeedDemon or Google GReader you can add a blog’s RSS feed to program and you will be able to read the newest blog posts without having to go to the blog itself.
Now RSS might like to make it sound like a simple process but it can be confusing for a lot of newcomers to blogs and the larger Web 2.0 world. RSS feeds are being used just about everywhere these days so it is a good idea to get a bit of a grounding in how they work and how you can subscribe to them
The following two pages are a short guide to the world of RSS feeds and hopefully they will be able to help you get an understanding of RSS feeds.
1. What is RSS?
2. How do I subscribe to an RSS feed?
I will be trying to add more help pages about RSS over time but if you have any questions feel free to shoot me an email (blog @ shootingatbubbles . com) and I’ll do my best to help or at least point you in the right direction for that help.
