Braindead TechCast EP 126: Moronic Monday’s has a brush with cool stuff

Sean may hate Moronic Monday’s because of the damage he says it does to what remains of his brain but I think he’s lying. In fact I think he lives for Moronic Monday’s, just like our faithful listeners do but we’ll let him keep believing that if it makes him feel like he is in a safe place.

Posts that made it to this week’s show.

Good luck with that human business

I like Chris Brogan. He’s a smart dude who writes some pretty clever stuff that sounds really good – like this

But what you’re selling is more business. What you’re selling them is more connected business. What you’re selling them, one hopes, is human business.

Problem is, business isn’t about being human. It’s about (con)vincing us to buy their product or service. That’s the reality and all the Twitter chatter in the world and all the Facebook fan page fawning isn’t going to change that.

It’s basic business 101 – do whatever you have to in order to get the chumps to buy the goods.

Braindead TechCast EP 125: Techmeme Friday – the DUH! edition

Some weeks Techmeme can be full of all kinds of goodies that just get you salivating over being able to poke and then there are week’s like this one where all you can do is go DUH!

That doesn’t stop us from poking fun though so don’t get to worried.

Techmeme headlines that jogged our funny bones.

Braindead TechCast EP 124: So bad it’s freaking awesome

This has to be consider one of those non sequitur type shows where everything stems from tech talk but has absolutely nothing to with tech – well at least the closer we get to the end. From dead kid in the street to sneaky quadrotors to really bad tacos we cover it all not to mention that Sean gets his revenge and blinds me with a website so bad that it is actually awesome in a GeoCities way.

Posts referred to in tonight’s show.

And Sean’s give to web designers around the world a gift to haunt your nights – don’t blame me if you eyes bleed

Enjoy the show.

Braindead TechCast EP 123: Enough with the visitors already

Wow what a change.  Tonight’s show has both Sean and myself actually really liking something that happened to. However don’t get your hopes up that this is a new theme because we also found something (or a couple of things) that really irritated us – so not all is lost.

Braindead TechCast EP 122: Pranks are fun until they bite you on the ass

Both Sean and I talk about the frenzy that occurred this morning after some photos of a HPOA appear on the web that supposedly illustrated a woman quitting her job. Neither one of us felt that everything was copesetic about the story or the so-called unhappy employee. Time will tell but were pretty sure this is a prank that will come back to bite someone on the ass.

Braindead TechCast EP 121: Moronic Monday’s and Sean wants off the world

Each week we never think that we can top the week’s previous Moronic Monday and yet we always seem to find something that takes our incredulity to new heights. At the very least I find new and wonderful ways to make Sean question the human race and why we are still propagating this planet.

Oh and we (or at least me) bought a couple domains but you’ll have to listen to the show to find out what they are.

The fat pipe equals innovation

There’s a lot of talk starting to hit the web about the announcement from Google and Verizon about their belief in an open Internet – which is contrary to what everyone was stupidly speculating about last week. From Marshall Kirkpatrick at ReadWriteWeb:

Google and Verizon are completing a press call right now announcing their joint legislative framework proposal: network transparency and FCC enforcement with up to $2 million fines for network providers that engage in anti-competitive measures that hurt consumers. This is the exact opposite of what reports last week speculated the companies were working on.

Funnily enough both companies are talking about how fat pipes are necessary for innovation:

Both companies are talking the innovation-talk, saying that fat, unfettered pipes will lead to more innovation that will make the pie bigger for everyone involved.

Ummm … gee .. isn’t this what I have said more time than I can shake a stick at both here and with Sean on the Braindead TechCast?

But then of course we’re no-body’s .. nobody’s who seem to be more right than wrong about what we’ve said and written.
