When I was writing up my last couple of posts about the adoption of RSS feeds stalling and why I realized that it was one thing to write about the problem but another not to at least do something about it here. The key point that I have come to the conclusion is the problem with RSS feed adoption is that for new comers to the idea it can be confusing as hell.
So I have put together a couple of pages (for now) here on WinExtra to deal with the issue. They are:
The above links are also located in the sidebar on the right hand side of the page in the Subscription section near the top. The pages are not meant for anyone who already has a basic understanding of how it all works because really you folks are the ones slowing down the adoption of RSS feeds.
These pages are directed purely for the newcomer to RSS feeds – those folks who have heard the term but don’t have a clue as to how they work or why when they have tried to subscribe to feeds it was a confusing mess for them.
I will probably add to these pages as more questions get asked or people ask for help but I think they are a good starting point. If you think they are helpful please feel free to use the information contain in the pages or just direct people to them.
