I always sat back when I saw these meme tagging posts going around the b’sphere and wondering if WinExtra would ever reach an audience where I would find myself tagged at some point. Sure some of them might be silly and others are self-serving but in less than a seven day period I have found myself tagged for two interesting meme’s and by blogger’s who’s writing I respect.
The first one was the Thinking Bloggers meme where I got tagged by Jason over at webomatica and the second one is the What’s your Web 2.0 started by //engtech; who also was the person who tagged me. Now the funny part about this; if you read his newest post, was that I found out about being tagged when I was doing my Technorati check.
It is also humorous given my attitude towards the whole Web 2.0 hype so I hope my responses don’t skew the survey too badly. Anyway onto my list which will probably be painfully short and may endanger my status as a blogger
Web 2.0 Apps I use:
Daily:
- Technorati – basically to see any new blogs that are linking to WinExtra and see what they are about
- Twitter – pretty well at this point only because I wrote TwitBox
- Wordpress – that’s the software running WinExtra
- Google/Live – there isn’t a day that doesn’t go by where I don’t use either of those two search engines – either for post background or coding. My preference for images is the image search on Live.com
Weekly:
- StumbleUpon – when I’m bored in which case it can sometimes be daily
- Wikipedia – again depending on what I am doing this can be daily
- Google AdSense – gotta see if I’ve broken my record of 6cents for a day
Monthly:
Okay now we’re pushing it … this old brain has a hard enough time remembering the day of the week let alone what web app I use only once or less a month. However just in case it counts
- PayPal – cause I gotta make sure and get Ruby her treats or I’m in big trouble.
As you can see in conparision with some of the other tagged folks in the meme/survey I am downright pony express material. However for my list of suck.. err candidates I think I might mix this up a little. A couple of tech types and a few not so tech types:
Pssstt…. tag yer it:
- Back In Skinny Jeans (hint – she use to be a Microsoft Evangelist)
- Read/WriteWeb
- Rob Hyndman – have to include a fellow Canuck
and beside he writes about the stuff so let’s see what he uses - Notes from as Teacher: Mark on Media
- O’Flaherty
- The Marketing Technology Blog
- Steve Clayton: Geek in Disguise
