Back in December I wrote a post about how changing to a magazine format along with some hosting problems had a dramatic negative effect on my readership number. When I had decided to switch to this style I was riding a crest of 30,000plus visitors as reported by compete.com only to come crashing down to just over 5,000 in November. In the space of a month I had lost pretty well 25,000 visitors. As I said in the post I could understand a downward fluctuation of 5 or 10 percent but this was damn hurtful.
Needless to say I made the switch back to a more traditional format and hoped that it would make the difference. Well I’ve been watching the numbers each month and given February’s compete.com’s report it looks like the slow road back is being travelled.
I may still be under the halfway mark three months in but at least I’m still up from a year ago. Just gotta keep on slugging away but then that’s what blogging is all about eh.
Hey, like this post? Why not share it with a buddy?

is this referring to when you made the forum change as well?
Also, referring to your wordpress post yesterday, I've been finding the sidebar irritatingly slow to load. The main blog page loads speedy quick, but I have to wait for the sidebar (with it's forum button) to load.

no Joe .. that previous experiment with the forums had no effect on the numbers. I'm still working on the theme code so hopefully I'll be able to speed it up some more.
