You just gotta love AdSense targeted advertising

I just got an email from a reader because he thought I would really appreciate the humor of this.

Earlier today I wrote a post titled Don’t hate the regurgitation which had an image in the last section of a dog cleaning up his own mess.

When Todd read the post in Google Reader (I am assuming here) there was an ad at the end of the post t hat when taken in conjunction of the image is enough to make you laugh.

Thanks Todd for the best laugh I’ve had today. Gawd you gotta love targeted advertising.

Tyler Romeo, Humor and a couple more ways to fail at blogging

Last week or so I wrote a post outlining six ways that bloggers can make sure that their blogging life could end up being a lonely and frustrating experience; and in some cases could even result in you calling it a failure. At the time I hit the publish button I was pretty sure that I had missed one or two other possible ways to make sure that you’ll forever be relegated to the blogging minors and, well, I was right.

However I first want to give a shout out to Tyler Romeo who was good enough to read the post and then much to my pleasure used it as a launching point for a very good post of his own on the subject. For me that is one of the highest complements that one blogger can give to another lonely soul sitting behind a keyboard trying hard to string the words together that will adequately express their thoughts and ideas.

Tyler’s points

Even though he agreed with my sediment it was only up to a point because as he put it

Despite my adversity toward pessimism, it is true. This very blog gets little over one hundred views on a given post. It saddens me to consider these statistics, but it gives me all the more reason to write this post, because there are a few things Steve left out that at least I think are very important in blogging: motivation, your inner circle, and interaction. Without these three concepts, blogging is exactly how Steve describes it: a cold dark world.

And in the spirit of Chatroulette

I just love this illustration by Tamar Gaspar and considering the popularity of Chatroulette I think it is the perfect graphic to describe the service.

Why Social Media sometimes feels like a Pacino faceplant in a pile of coke

scarface Ever have one of those days where no matter where you turned someone or something was demanding your attention – immediately of course – every minute of the day?

It doesn’t matter if you are a factory floor worker or an over paid CEO with a better golden parachute than the GDP of some nations. Your attention is a commodity that everyone is wanting to get a piece of regardless of how close to a breakdown you might be.

The walls close in. The cellphone is ringing every five minutes. Twitter messages look more like a tsunami instead of a peaceful little river. Facebook is bursting at the seams from social games calling your name and quizzes teasing what is left of your brain. Foursquare is calling the Mayor to Council meetings. And then there’s that bulging pile of emails along with a bunch of new Buzzes.

Thanking the Shooting at Bubble sponsors

I figured with everyone like TechCrunch, ReadWriteWeb, and other big boys in the tech blogging world doing it that I should take a moment and thank all the companies who have sponsored this blog in the past month.

Oh.

Wait.

I don’t have any.

Darn.

Oh well, in the mean time; while I’m waiting for some sponsors to show up and save me from financial ruin, there is always this:

cat-might-be-friend-to-baby

Ya gotta admit it hits all the warm and fuzzy spots.
