Braindead TechCast EP 78: A Gruber size bottle of aspirin

While there wasn’t all that much news today what there was floating around was pretty interesting – in a brain dead sort of way in some cases.

Both Sean and I both are need of a big bottle of aspirin after trying to figure out John Gruber’s response to John Battelle’s comments about Apple possibly blocking Google’s AdMob ads from their iPhonbe and iPad apps. Ya that makes a lot of sense.

Then for some reason we got side-tracked in to talking about Billy the Exterminator – and no I’m not sure how we got there.

We also take a look at the security breach that saw a whole bunch of iPad user ID information siphoned off the AT&T servers and yet everyone seems to want to parcel some of the blame onto Apple – I don’t think so.

Braindead TechCast Ep. 74 – Does your ISP lie? DUH!

Not that any of this will matter since the Steve Jobs Effect is in action and everyone is hanging off of every word he says at the D8 conference but hey we’re gluttons for self-abuse so on with the show.

We start off talking about the absolute ridiculousness surround the whole Google gives Windows the boot story that everyone is falling for hook line and sinker. From there we have a little bit of a go at the Wired iPad app that everyone – except Sean – is in love with and how Adobe thinks its creation tools for iPad magazines is all the snizzle.

The show ends off with us talking about the silliness that is the FCC asking people to let them know if they think their ISPs are a bunch of liars. Duh!

Braindead TechCast EP 70: Hershey Kisses for Zuckerberg

Two really big pieces of news today are our main topics of conversation with the first obviously being the announcement from Facebook that once again modified its stance of privacy and our control over it on the service.

Needless to say that both Sean and I are still on the fence over whether there will be any real changes past the cosmetic ones, and how long it will really be before we are back in this same spot.

The second bit of news was the fact that Apple has finally supplanted Microsoft as the tech firm with the highest market cap.
