Me, Karoli and 10 Questions

karoli-flower I have known Karoli for a number of years, first through her blog and then as one of the first people that I followed after joining Twitter. She is an incredibly smart woman who doesn’t suffer fools gladly – maybe that’s one of the reasons why I like her so much.

When I first started putting together the idea for this 10 Questions interview series Karoli was one of the first people I thought of interviewing. While she doesn’t concentrate that much on the tech side of things she is still a force to be reckoned with when it comes to political blogging and Twitter activity.

Needless to say I was very happy when she agreed to take part in this interview. As a side note Karoli gave me permission to edit as needed but I have not edited a single word as that is my policy when it comes to these 10 Question interviews.

So without any further ado here is Karoli and her 10 Questions interview.

Me, Liz Strauss and 10 Questions

liz After a bit of a hiatus over the holidays I am back with my 10 Questions series of Interviews. This is my attempt to ask people in the tech and social media field that I really respect a series of 10 questions – questions that try to go beyond the typical fluff and help us learn something new.

One of the ladies in the social media and marketing field that I have great respect for is Liz Strauss. So I was very happy when she agreed to take part in my interview series.

Oh and as a teaser I have another great lady lined up (sensing a trend here?) as soon as I can pull together all my questions for her.

For now though with my thanks to Liz here is her 10 Questions interview.

Interview

1. I noticed while doing some catch-up reading about you that you were at one time a teacher. I am curious given some of the hype around how social media – and the Web in general it seems – is dumbing down our children do you feel that this is the case? Is the Internet and things like Twitter and texting really causing any type of stupidity curve?

Liz: Let’s start with that they said same thing about television … Different isn’t wrong, worse, or dumber.

Me, Brett Nordquist and 10 Questions

brettblog I first started reading Brett Nordquist’s blog some three years or so ago back when he was still primarily writing about technology. Then he started to shift away from technology and writing more about life, family and how those things affected him as a person.

Through his gradual shift I kept reading his blog because I found that his writing was providing me with something I think we all need at some point or another – a warm feeling that there is more to life than just the technology we play with and write about everyday.

I think if there was ever a blog that would have to rate in the top ten I would never want to be without Brett’s would definitely be on that list. His writing touches me, makes me feel good and in most cases when my day may not being doing all that well one of his posts will show up in my reader and the day will seem a little better – a little brighter.

Following up on the recent email interview I did with Nick Bradbury this is the first of what I hope I will be an on-going series of email interviews with people in social media space that I find interesting. Hopefully I will ask the types of questions, some easy and maybe some not so easy, that readers will have wanted to know the answers to. If not then I hope the interviews are at least informative.

Corvida Raven

I have known Corvida since almost the beginning of my time following the social media world. She is an incredibly bright young woman who has grown over the time I’ve known her. When it comes to enthusiasm about the subjects she talks about it is hard to keep up with her.

Interview

1. Who is Corvida Raven

I’m a successful Technology blogger that grew up in one of the toughest areas of Miami, FL. I’m on a mission to become one of the greatest bloggers of all time and I’m actively working to build that dream. I grew up surrounded by hip-hop music and discover an instant attraction to technology around 11 or 12. Since then, I’ve been using both to try to make sense of my life.
