Oh no, the end times must be here

The small circle of bloggers out there who know me well along with my regular readers will probably get a chuckle out of this but the cranky old fart has finally joined the cellphone world. Yup .. the inevitable has happened courtesy of Telus making me the owner of a brand spanking new LG 8600 that you see here

new cellphone

Now I am no aficionado of cell phones and I know this is any iPhone type of deal but from what little I have used it since yesterday after it arrived I’m pretty happy with it.

I know that the only reason I even ended up with it is because I was on some telephone list somewhere but at least Telus was willing to fork over the phone without any deposit or credit card – unlike Bell or Rogers – and ship it to me. The other thing that I really liked is my experience so far with their customer service people. From my first contact with the lady who made all the arrangements for my account with Telus through to support team who helped with problems I was having with the activation of the phone. Then to top it off the same customer service lady (sorry madam for not remembering your name) phone this morning to make sure that everything was alright and if I was happy with the phone.

So finally after all these years of cell phones becoming a standard part of our lives this cranky old fart joins up with the rest of the world. Of course this post wouldn’t be complete without the obligatory first picture taken with the phone – so here’s your dose of “aw isn’t that cute” for the day

After this major life change, I only have one request – more dog pictures.
