For much of my working life with computers I have always made do with those cheapo OEM keyboards. You know the ones, stuffed in plain brown cardboard boxes where you can by them by the case lot for about $10.00 a piece. Sure they do the job but when you use a keyboard as much as I do, not to mention as hard on them as can be, they don’t last very long.
So I decided that it was time to spend some of my hard earned money and get a keyboard that I both liked the looks of and felt comfortable typing on. I had originally wanted the Logitech diNovo Edge keyboard but at over $200 Canadian it was just a tad outside my price range. However hunting around the Logitech site I came across this one (which TigerDirect.ca had on for a good price) – the Illuminated Keyboard.
It is now sitting quite nicely, as you can see, on my desk and I’m a happy camper
The thing I really like about it is its low profile and soft touch key stroke.
As nice as it was to finally upgrade the keyboard aspect I also figured it was the time to bite the bullet and do a hardware upgrade as well. At some point later tonight I’ll be swapping out my old 2GIG of RAM for this nice new set of 4GIG of RAM from Corsair.
But for now it’s time to get back to work and then prep for tonight’s Cynical Bastards podcast. The RAM swap will have to wait <sigh>.
