It was nice knowing you Performancing

UPDATE:  Nick Wilson just posted on the Performancing blog that the deal between them and PayPerPost has been cancelled:

After much discussion, we’ve decided that the deal proposed by PayPerPost just isnt right for us or our community. It’s regrettable that we should part ways as I still feel that Dan and Ted are stand up guys breaking new ground, but in the end, the deal was just not right for them or us.

Well it looks like TechCrunch has gotten another scoop to do with PayPerPost. Apparently they have acquired Performancing the authors of the Firefox blogging editor extensions and behind the Bloggers Ad Network. I am really sorry to see this given my feelings about PayPerPost. I had been with Performancing since almost the inception of their ad network; which really is still development stages.

While this hasn’t been confirmed by Performancing yet; or at least nothing has been posted on their site, I have removed any of their ad network code from the site. I realize that folks have to earn a living and I really wish Nick and the performancing crew all the best but at this point I just have to say – Bye Bye Performancing, it was nice knowing ya.

Okay I’m confused. Other than the ad network and the Firefox extension what is there that is sellable to some-one like PayPerPost?

The company name – domain – people?
